What If Monaco Floated ?

A British company has come up with a design for what might be the most expensive private luxury yacht, one that would approach $1.1 billion to build and tens of millions to operate each year. If it doesn't capture that title, though, it will no doubt lay claim to another honor—that of ugliest, gaudiest, and most over-the-top vessel to set sail.

Meet the Streets of Monaco, which resembles an aircraft carrier more than it does a traditional yacht. The company designing it, Yacht Island Design in Derbyshire, released concept images of the ship, which show it recreating key landmarks of the principality on the Mediterranean Sea.

According to the Daily Mail, which recently ran a story about the yacht:

The 500-foot-long boat—expected to cost up to £700million—also boasts miniatures of the famed Monte Carlo Casino, Hotel de Paris, Cafe de Paris, La Rascasse, the Loews Hotel as well as swimming pools and tennis courts.

The most mind-bending feature is the Monaco Grand Prix-inspired go-kart track complete with tunnel complex which runs around the deck.

For all this, you might expect the ship to be able to carry hundreds of passengers. But it's only designed for 16 guests and a staff of 70.
